BYD Seagull is a compact battery electric car designed for urban use. It sits in the A segment and uses a five door hatchback body. The focus stays on short trips, tight streets, and low running costs.
The Seagull uses a small lithium iron phosphate Blade battery. Battery options sit around 30 kWh to 38 kWh depending on trim. Claimed range reaches about 190 to 250 miles on the CLTC cycle, which translates to lower real world city figures. AC charging supports home and public slow chargers. DC fast charging works on higher trims and adds a large percentage of charge in under an hour.
Pricing targets entry level EV buyers. It undercuts most electric cars in its class. This model suits city commuters, students, and households adding a second car. Alternatives include the Wuling Bingo and Chery QQ Ice Cream. A close comparison comes from the MG Comet EV in markets where both exist.
