Polestar 5 is a full‑size electric sedan in the premium EV segment. It uses a four‑door liftback body with a low roofline and long wheelbase. This model targets grand tourer duties with performance and space.
It uses a large 112 kWh battery pack (about 106 kWh usable) on an 800‑volt architecture. WLTP range reaches about 670 km on the dual‑motor version and around 565 km on the higher power model. DC charging is rated up to 350 kW, adding significant range in about 20–22 minutes from 10 to 80 percent. AC charging runs up to around 11–22 kW for overnight top‑ups.
Pricing starts around $135,000 and rises for more powerful trims, placing it above Polestar’s SUV models. It suits buyers who want a performance‑oriented electric sedan with long range and strong charge rates. Other Polestar EVs include Polestar 2 compact fastback and Polestar 3 SUV. Alternatives include Porsche Taycan and Lucid Air. Compared with Porsche Taycan, Polestar 5 offers similar peak charging power with more WLTP range on the base spec but trades a broader dealer and service network.
