PROS

  1. Four-LiDAR Huawei ADS 5 driver-assist suite at a sub-$40K price point
  2. 637 hp AWD powertrain with 4.5-second 0–100 km/h and up to 740 km CLTC range
  3. Undercuts its direct rival (Xiaomi YU7) on launch pricing while matching size and power class

CONS

  1. No WLTP/EPA range data or confirmed peak DC charging kW yet — CLTC-only figures overstate real-world range
  2. Currently China-market only, with no confirmed international rollout or pricing

The Voyah Passion S is a mid-to-large electric coupe SUV from Voyah, Dongfeng Motor’s premium new-energy vehicle brand. It sits as a performance-flagship entry within Voyah’s SUV lineup, built on an 800V silicon-carbide architecture with rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. The Passion S is notable mainly for its market timing and positioning — it launched in August 2026 as a direct, lower-priced challenger to Xiaomi’s hot-selling YU7, pairing a fastback “FUV” body style (styling frequently compared to the Ferrari Purosangue) with a four-LiDAR Huawei driver-assist suite, a combination not common at this price point in the segment.

Powertrain & Charging

The Passion S is offered with two LFP battery options — 81 kWh and 98 kWh — badged “Amber Battery 2.0.” CLTC-rated range runs from 630 km on the smaller pack up to 740 km for the RWD variant with the larger battery, dropping to 700 km on the AWD version. No WLTP or EPA figures have been published, since the car is currently sold only in China; CLTC is the only cycle that applies at this stage. On the powertrain side, the RWD variant uses a single 300 kW (402 hp) rear motor, while the AWD variant combines a 175 kW front motor with a 300 kW rear unit for a combined 475 kW (637 hp) and a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds. Charging is rated at 800V/5C, with Voyah claiming a 20–80% charge in about 10 minutes, adding up to 474 km of range. Exact AC onboard charging rate and peak DC kW figure have not been officially disclosed and should be treated as unconfirmed until Voyah publishes full charging-curve data.

Pricing, Fit & Context

In its launch market, China, the Passion S carries official pricing of ¥229,900–¥279,900 (roughly $32,000–$39,000), with limited-time launch pricing as low as ¥223,900 (about $31,000) on entry trims. No regional or export pricing has been announced. This car realistically suits buyers who want performance-SUV specs and heavy driver-assist tech without paying flagship money — tech-forward commuters and enthusiast buyers rather than fleet or budget-focused shoppers. Within Voyah’s own range, the Passion S slots between the smaller Voyah Free SUV and the larger, more luxury-oriented Voyah Courage, giving the brand a sportier, tech-heavy option between those two. Externally, its closest rivals are the Xiaomi YU7 — the model Voyah is explicitly targeting with its pricing — and the Zeekr 7X, another Chinese coupe-SUV competing on power and range at a similar price band. For a direct spec-and-price comparison, the Xiaomi YU7 is the clearest match given nearly identical dimensions and market positioning.
