Audi A6 e-tron electric vehicle has launched the A6 e-tron, proving that its most well-known model can still be relevant in the electric car age. Available in a Sportback (hatchback) or Avant (estate).
The A6 e-tron comes with three different engine choices. The basic e-tron, both the Sportback and Avant, will use a single electric motor with an unspecified output, but likely more over 300 horsepower if the Q6 is any indicator. The Performance edition adds another electric motor, increasing the power to 362 hp (270 kW), allowing the Sportback to go from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds. The top-tier S6 model takes performance even more seriously, with 496 horsepower (370 kW) and a 0-62 mph pace of 3.9 seconds.
Audi A6 e-tron Range
The A6 e-tron outperforms its stablemates in terms of range, with a driver-accessible battery capacity of 94.9kWh (100 kWh total). The S6 Avant and Sportback Performance variants have a range of 398 and 416 miles, respectively, but the standard vehicles have a range of 447 and 466 miles. The A6 e-tron also has outstanding charging capabilities. With a maximum charging rate of 270kW, a 10-80% charge may be achieved in about 21 minutes using a properly strong DC charger.
Standard home charging is available at 11kW, with a 22kW option expected later. The A6 e-tron has an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster that perfectly integrates with the 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. A third 10.9-inch screen positioned for the front passenger allows them to handle a variety of features without interrupting the driver. However, the lack of tactile controls for the primary touchscreen may be a negative for some. The business says that the cabin has dramatic ambient lighting and high-quality materials, however, the rough plastic ledge for resting your palm while using the touchscreen is a little letdown. The A6 e-tron versions have a larger trunk capacity (17.7 ft³), with the Avant offering even more room above the trunk cover. The A6 e-tron boasts a larger trunk area of 0.95 ft³.
Price
Both A6 e-tron variants will be available for order starting in September. The Avant is priced somewhat more, with the Performance version starting at $82,890 and the S6 at $108,540.
