BYD J6 is a compact electric minibus built in China for urban transit and community routes. It sits in the light commercial segment with a boxy body and low floor for easy boarding.
It uses a high-capacity battery pack sized for frequent stop-start duty. Official range is around 220 km per charge under transit test cycles. It supports DC fast charging and standard AC charging for depot or overnight top-ups.
Price sits below larger transit EVs in its class. It suits operators needing a short-range shuttle for city loops. Alternatives include Maxus EV30 and Nissan e-NV200. Against the Maxus EV30, the J6 offers similar load area but more seating layouts.
