Days before its formal unveiling on November 6, new pictures purportedly depicting the official Renault Twingo have appeared online. One of Renault‘s most recognizable nameplates is revived for the EV era by this adorable all-electric city car.
Retro Charm Meets Modern Design
The leaked images support what we’ve already seen in teaser images and prototypes: the new Renault Twingo adheres to the endearing concept that was unveiled two years ago. This new version adopts a playful yet futuristic aesthetic in homage to the iconic frog-eyed Twingo of the 1990s.

It has a cartoonish, amiable face thanks to its LED headlights, which also have a tiny grille that resembles a smile. The car appears to be sticking its tongue out thanks to a sensor patch underneath. Its unique and expressive front design is further enhanced by impact overriders that are mounted vertically on the bumper.
A Familiar Silhouette
The new Twingo keeps its straightforward design, which is reminiscent of the original’s minimalist appeal. Where the original intake was, three fake air vents are located on a dark front panel; however, since it is now entirely electric, they are probably merely decorative elements.

A sizable, pod-shaped window at the back attracts the eye, and the tail lights mirror the headlights’ shape to produce a well-balanced and unified design. All things considered, it’s among the most authentically retro-inspired EVs we’ve seen in a long time.
Playful and Practical Interior
The Renault Twingo retains its lively personality inside. The dashboard is dominated by two sizable digital screens in the leaked photos, along with physical climate controls and a conspicuous hazard light button that pays homage to the original Twingo. The otherwise somber, functional interior is given a pop of color by a bright yellow dashboard insert.

Shared Platform and Affordable Powertrain
The Twingo, like the upcoming Renault 4 and 5, is powered by the AmpR Small platform underneath. It will, however, have less sophisticated, smaller LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries, which will help Renault keep costs down and make the Twingo one of the most reasonably priced EVs in Europe.

Pricing and Availability
Although official pricing is still pending, the Renault Twingo E-Tech is anticipated to rank among the most affordable electric vehicles in Europe, alongside the Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03. Additionally, Renault has revealed a special “Twingo R Pass” that will allow fans to reserve their cars in advance of the public launch.
The Renault Twingo appears destined to become a favorite in Europe’s expanding small electric vehicle market thanks to its unique combination of modern technology, vintage styling, and affordable EV appeal.
