Xiaomi’s SkyNomad N70 is the entry model in the automaker’s new SkyNomad sub-brand, sitting below the larger N90 within a two-model extended-range SUV lineup. It’s a five-seat crossover built on Xiaomi’s Kunlun platform, offered with either single-motor RWD or dual-motor AWD depending on trim. Unlike the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV that came before it, the N70 is not a pure EV — it’s a serial PHEV (EREV), pairing a large battery with a gas engine used only to generate electricity, never to drive the wheels directly. What makes it notable is the claim, at launch, of the longest EV-only range among production EREVs.

Powertrain & Charging

The N70 Max comes with a 76 kWh CALB-made NMC battery pack, delivering up to 505 km of pure-electric range on the CLTC cycle. A base trim swaps in a smaller 52 kWh Sunwoda LFP pack with a shorter EV-only range. The dual-motor Max setup combines a 210 kW front motor with a 100 kW rear motor for 310 kW combined output; single-motor versions use one 210 kW rear-mounted unit. Range extension comes from a 1.5-liter Dongan engine rated at 112 kW, pushing total combined range to roughly 908 miles (about 1,461 km) on the larger battery. Xiaomi states the 76 kWh pack can charge from 20–80% in about 18 minutes on DC fast charging; AC onboard charging rate hasn’t been disclosed. All figures above are manufacturer-stated CLTC and preorder-stage specs, not yet independently verified or converted to WLTP/EPA cycles.

Pricing, Fit & Context

The N70 Max is priced from 259,900 yuan (approximately $38,410) in China, where preorders are open and deliveries are expected from September 2026. Pricing for other markets hasn’t been announced; a European launch is expected in the second half of 2027. The N70 suits buyers who want EV-like daily range without charging-network dependency on longer trips — think families or road-trip-heavy commuters who aren’t ready to commit to a full BEV. Within Xiaomi’s own lineup, it slots alongside the fully electric YU7 SUV and SU7 sedan, but as the brand’s first non-BEV product, positioned below the larger, more feature-loaded N90 Max. Its closest external rivals are the Leapmotor D19, which uses a bigger 80.3 kWh battery for a similar 500 km CLTC range, and the Li Auto L6, widely cited as its most direct price-and-segment match — making the L6 the natural head-to-head comparison for anyone cross-shopping this class.
