The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 is the flagship model in Xiaomi’s new SkyNomad sub-brand, sitting above the smaller N70 as the brand’s largest and most expensive offering. It’s a full-size SUV available in five-seat or 2+2+3 seven-seat layouts, built on Xiaomi’s new Super Kunpeng platform, and sold exclusively with dual-motor AWD. What makes it notable is that it’s Xiaomi’s first three-row vehicle and its first extended-range EV (EREV), following the fully electric SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV — a clear pivot from performance-focused design toward large-family practicality, with a fully flat cabin floor made possible by the platform’s suspension and motor packaging.
Powertrain & Charging
The N90 Max uses a 76 kWh NMC battery pack (CALB-sourced), delivering 464 km of pure-electric range on the CLTC cycle, with a combined range of 1,705 km once the 1.5-liter range-extender engine is factored in. Earlier prototype testing had cited a WLTC-cycle estimate of 363–370 km, a lower figure under a different, stricter test cycle — treat the 464 km CLTC number as the official pre-launch spec, not a like-for-like comparison. On DC fast charging, the pack reportedly reaches 20–80% in about 18 minutes; AC onboard charging rate hasn’t been disclosed. One real limitation worth flagging: the N90 doesn’t run an 800V architecture, so peak DC charging speed trails newer 800V rivals in the same segment. 0–100 km/h comes in at 5.9 seconds with a 190 km/h top speed.
Pricing, Fit & Context
The N90 Max is priced from 299,900 yuan (approximately $44,320) in China at preorder stage, with full launch and deliveries expected to follow the N70’s September 2026 rollout. Pricing for markets outside China hasn’t been announced. This SUV suits large families who need flexible three-row seating, slide-out cabin layouts, and long-distance range without relying on a charging network — plus buyers exploring optional camping-oriented trims with a pop-up roof and roof bed. Within Xiaomi’s own lineup, the N90 sits above the smaller N70 as the SkyNomad flagship, alongside the unrelated BEV models SU7 and YU7. Its closest external rivals are the Li Auto L9 and the Huawei-backed AITO M9, both larger, older-generation family EREVs. The Li Auto L9 is the more direct comparison for SEO purposes — closest in size, segment, and buyer profile, and the most frequently cited benchmark in coverage of the N90.
