BYD’s Ti 7 has sold well. It is Fang Cheng Bao’s best-selling model, with 20,320 units sold in July, and it is already on sale in several export markets. Now a long-wheelbase (LWB) prototype has been caught testing in China, which suggests a larger Ti 7 is coming.

LWB BYD Ti 7 testing in China
The camouflaged prototype has a D-pillar set further back and a bigger third-row window. The front, rear and lights look unchanged. Most of the plastic cladding is missing, but an indent at the back suggests the usual rear-mounted spare tyre. No interior photos have appeared yet.
What the longer Ti 7 might offer
Expect more room for seven people. Chinese sources say it will be sold next to the regular Ti 7, so buyers could pick 5 or 7 seats. It would also give BYD something to offer owners tempted by bigger NEV SUVs, much as the Han, Han L and Da Han sedans cover different sizes. In that logic, the LWB car would slot between the standard Ti 7 and the larger Ti 9.
Powertrains haven’t been confirmed. BYD probably won’t offer a base two-wheel-drive version, and the SUV should come in Flash Charging EV and PHEV forms with AWD as standard.
5-seat China model vs 7-seat export model
In China the Ti 7 is a 2+3 five-seater. Export versions get a full seven-seat layout, confirmed for right-hand-drive markets including the UK. Both share a 2,920 mm wheelbase. The China car measures 4,999 × 1,995 × 1,865 mm, while BYD UK quotes 5,146 mm in length. The gap may come from how the spare tyre is counted, but that is a guess.
Ti 7 specs and prices in China
The EV, sold with Flash Charging, was announced with up to 755 km of CLTC range and a 10–97% charge in about nine minutes. The RWD version has a 300 kW motor and the AWD version peaks at 515 kW (691 hp). It launched on April 29, 2026, from 199,800 yuan.
The PHEV launched in September 2025 from 179,800 yuan. On August 18, 2026 BYD added a Long-Range Edition with a 50 kWh battery and 315 km of CLTC electric range, priced at 195,800 yuan for the 2WD Max and 225,800 yuan for the 4WD Ultra. Peak charging power rose from 73 kW to 158 kW. The PHEV uses a 1.5-litre turbo engine.
Where the Ti 7 sells outside China
The UK gets only the Excellence AWD PHEV, from £47,995 on the road, with deliveries from January 2027. The UAE already has it from AED 156,900. New Zealand is confirmed for 2027, and South Africa is still under evaluation. BYD has trademarked the name in Australia but hasn’t confirmed a launch. Export cars wear BYD badges, not Fang Cheng Bao or Denza.
