- Wide choice from a relaxed single-motor car to a 3.8 s all-wheel-drive car
- Safe and long-lasting: 5-star Euro NCAP, LFP Blade battery and a long warranty
CONS

The BYD Seal Performance (UAE) is the top trim of BYD’s Seal electric sedan, positioned as an upper-mid-range model in the UAE lineup. The Seal is sold in three trims in the UAE: Design FWD, Premium FWD and Performance AWD. That makes the Performance the only all-wheel-drive version. It uses a dual-motor setup rated at 523 hp and 670 Nm, with a quoted 0–100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. It is a midsize four-door sedan built in China and imported through official channels.
All UAE trims share an 82.5 kWh usable (84 kWh nominal) Blade LFP battery. The Performance AWD is rated at 520 km on the WLTP cycle, and EV Database lists a real-world estimate of 445 km. UAE-specific testing puts real-world range at roughly 400–450 km. AC charging is 11 kW, DC peak is 150 kW, and the 10–80% average is about 100 kW. BYD’s own claimed 10–80% time at 150 kW is 37 minutes. The AC, DC and 10–80% figures come from European-market listings. I could not find a separate GCC-spec charging sheet, so treat them as unconfirmed for UAE cars.
On price, the Seal range starts at AED 149,900. Most UAE listings put the Performance AWD at AED 204,900, but at least one dealer-facing listing shows AED 179,900, so confirm the current figure with BYD UAE before quoting it. The car suits buyers who want a larger sedan with strong acceleration and AWD traction, mainly private owners rather than fleets. Within BYD’s UAE range it sits above the Seal 7 (AED 109,900–129,900) and below the Han (AED 199,900–231,900). Outside the brand, the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6 are the usual rivals. The closest direct comparison is the Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD. The Model 3 Standard starts at AED 144,990 and the higher trim at AED 167,990+, with real-world range of about 380 km and 480–500 km respectively. I did not confirm the exact Model 3 AWD trim name or current price.
