BYD’s premium brand Denza will start pre-sales of the all-electric Denza N8 on October 26, with the official launch set for November. The five-seat SUV will sit next to the six-seat N8L in Denza’s lineup.
General manager Li Hui announced the schedule on Weibo on Thursday (October 22). He gave no exact launch date, price or delivery timing. The pre-sale is a non-binding reservation period, not the market launch. A poster released with the announcement calls the N8 a spacious five-seater with a new level of technology.

Denza N8 Size and powertrain
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published the N8’s regulatory filing on July 10. It lists single-motor rear-wheel-drive and triple-motor all-wheel-drive versions.
The N8 is 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,820 mm tall, with a 3,075 mm wheelbase. That makes it 50 mm shorter than the 5,200 mm N8L, and the other dimensions match.
The single-motor models come in two outputs, 320 kW (429 hp) and 370 kW (497 hp). The triple-motor version uses BYD’s e3 platform, with a 270 kW motor at the front and a 310 kW motor on each rear wheel. Combined output is 890 kW, or about 1,194 hp.
Battery, range and charging
Denza confirmed in July that the N8 will use BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery with flash charging. According to Denza, it gives a usable charge in 5 minutes and a near-full charge in 9. At minus 30°C, charging takes about 3 minutes longer.
Filings list a 130.15 kWh pack with a CLTC range of up to 1,003 km, plus a 105.8 kWh pack. Range across the variants runs from 800 to 1,003 km. CLTC is China’s test cycle and usually reads higher than real-world driving or the WLTP and EPA cycles.
Interior and design
Denza has shown four cabin colors, a 30-inch central display and a panoramic head-up display strip across the dash. The exterior shots so far show Sunlight Orange, Aurora Green and Deep Space Blue paint. Denza also lists a 208-liter electric front trunk.
Where the N8 name comes from
The first N8 launched in August 2023 as a six- or seven-seat plug-in hybrid. It was dropped in under a year because of weak sales. The new model reuses the name for an all-electric SUV.
The N8L followed in late 2025, after pre-sales opened on September 26, 2025. Denza added a flash-charging plug-in hybrid version in June 2026 and an all-electric version on September 14, starting at 299,800 yuan (about $42,000). The N8 will probably price near that, but Denza hasn’t said.
Pricing, trim levels and delivery dates should come at the November launch.
