Volkswagen’s new electric crossover, the ID. Unyx 08, began presales in China at 239,900 yuan (34,760 USD). Developed in China for the Chinese market, it features a 5000 mm body, ADAS with 1,500 TOPS, up to 730 km range, and 496 hp peak power.
The first buyers can reserve the vehicle for 99 yuan (14 USD) and receive a 2,000 yuan (290 USD) discount, a free home charging station, and a lifetime warranty. The official launch is expected at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 in late April.
Mass Production and Background
Volkswagen started mass production of the ID. Unyx 08 at its Anhui plant on March 13. The model is based on the ID. Evo concept introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025. This is Volkswagen’s first co-developed model with Xpeng, marking a strategic push in the Chinese EV market.
