Can-Am Pulse and Origin: BRP’s Award-Winning Electric Comeback
It’s award season again, but this time it’s for cars rather than robot-themed movies or jazz-hands musicals. And the main attraction this year is BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products), the business that makes Can-Am.
The company recently won two coveted Gold Stevie® Awards, which will further enhance its expanding electric product line. The Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin electric motorcycles, the company’s most recent electric mobility innovation, received one of the awards.

A New Era for Can-Am: Back on Two Wheels
Can-Am has returned to the motorcycle scene after a long absence, and it is taking the lead with electric power. A significant turning point for the brand’s comeback to two-wheel innovation was reached when the Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin were recognized as “New Product of the Year” in New York.
Can-Am Pulse: The Electric Streetfighter
The Can-Am Pulse is a sleek, urban-focused “naked” electric street bike built for riders who want performance, agility, and style in one package.
- Motor: 47-horsepower (peak)
- Torque: 53 lb-ft (instant delivery)
- Battery: 8.9 kWh
- Acceleration: 0–60 mph in just 3.8 seconds
- Range: Up to 100 miles (city) or 80 miles (combined)
- Weight: 390 lbs
- Seat Height: 30.9 inches
- Starting Price: $13,999
It is incredibly fast off the line thanks to its instant torque, and its small size and light weight make it manageable in urban traffic. Level 2 charging is ideal for a fast recharge while out for coffee because it can take about 50 minutes to go from 20% to 80% battery.

Can-Am Origin: The Dual-Sport Adventurer
For riders who prefer dirt trails and adventure routes, the Can-Am Origin takes the same powertrain and gives it a rugged, go-anywhere attitude.
- Motor: 47-horsepower
- Torque: 53 lb-ft
- Battery: 8.9 kWh
- Acceleration: 0–60 mph in 4.3 seconds
- Range: Up to 90 miles (city) or 71 miles (combined)
- Weight: 412 lbs
- Seat Height: 34 inches
- Starting Price: $14,499
The higher suspension and dual-sport setup make it perfect for exploring beyond the pavement. On longer rides, the liquid-cooled power system and Active and Passive Regenerative Braking keep both bikes cool and effective.
Fast Charging and Smart Tech
Level 2 charging is supported by the Can-Am Pulse and Origin, allowing users to recharge from 20% to 80% in less than an hour. While the liquid-cooled system maintains the battery’s optimal performance even during intense rides, the regenerative braking system replenishes the battery’s energy during deceleration.
BRP Also Wins Big with the Maverick R
Not all of BRP’s awards were for silent rides. The company also picked up another Gold Stevie Award in Lisbon for the Can-Am Maverick R, a high-performance side-by-side (SSV) with:
- 240-horsepower 999cc turbocharged engine
- Seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (a first in its class)
- Advanced suspension system for extreme off-road performance
Weighing around 2,150 pounds, it’s a wild, sand-flinging powerhouse that proves BRP’s innovation spans both the quiet and the chaotic.

BRP has formally electrified its return to the motorcycle industry with the Can-Am Pulse and Origin. From quiet city streets to thundering desert dunes, the company is pushing innovation in every direction, as evidenced by its Gold Stevie Awards for both its electric motorcycles and its high-performance SSV.
