Sungrow Launches Megawatt EV Charging Station in Europe

0

At a ceremony in Amsterdam, Sungrow, a well-known Chinese renewable energy company, formally unveiled the ChargeStack 1000, a megawatt-capacity EV charging station.

Fast-Charging Power for Electric Trucks

Electric trucks can receive up to 600kWh of charging power in 30 minutes thanks to the ChargeStack 1000, which provides 1MW to 3.5MW of charging power. With a 97% charging efficiency, this “Power Nap Charge” can increase a car’s state of charge (SOC) from 10% to 95%.

In an effort to hasten the transition to heavy-duty electric vehicles, Sungrow has introduced its first megawatt charging system (MCS) to the European market.

Scalable and Flexible Charging Design

Over time, operators can increase the charging capacity of Sungrow thanks to its “grow-as-you-go” design. At lower power levels, up to 12 vehicles can be served concurrently by its modular power cabinets.

Future enhancements, such as vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities, are also supported by the system’s decoupled architecture without requiring hardware replacement. Despite not yet releasing its own V2G system, Sungrow is already at the forefront of inverter technology, which is essential to V2G operations.

Ready for Solar and Smart Energy Integration

Energy storage, solar PV, and intelligent charging management systems are all seamlessly integrated with the ChargeStack 1000. This makes it ideal for commercial charging stations and fleet depots that run on renewable energy.

Because Sungrow’s chargers are technology-agnostic, they can be used with a variety of energy systems, not just the company’s own solar and storage systems.
