BYD Atto 2 is coming to Europe as affordable SUV for the European market

BYD has announced the latest addition to its European EV portfolio. The new Atto 2 is a tiny crossover that provides an appealing combination of technology, usability, and price.

BYD Atto 2 design and Features

The Atto 2 is smaller than the Atto 3, measuring 169.69 inches long, 72.05 inches broad, and 66.14 inches tall. Despite its modest size, it comfortably seats five and has a 14.1 ft³ trunk.

BYD’s latest EV model features a 174-horsepower front-wheel-drive electric engine and a 45.1 kWh battery pack. This arrangement boasts a range of 194 miles, making it suited for both city commutes and longer travels. The Atto 2 is based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, which we know from the BYD Dolphin hatchback. However, the Atto 2 is the first tiny BYD model to incorporate a cell-to-body (CTB) design. This design not only enhances structural integrity but also creates a more roomy interior.

The Atto 2 takes a more conventional approach than some of its competitors. It has classic headlights and a black piece between them that resembles a typical grill. The back features an LED strip connecting the two taillights, which is BYD’s visual hallmark.

Inside the Atto 2, you’ll find a sleek and technologically advanced cabin. The centerpiece is BYD’s trademark 15.6-inch rotating infotainment touchscreen, which can be used in either portrait or landscape mode. This user-friendly interface gives you access to a variety of services like navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings.

BYD describes the Atto 2 as a “affordable SUV for the European market.” While official pricing has yet to be established, it is projected to be in the mid-$26,000 range, making it a compelling alternative in the tiny EV sector. The Atto 2 will go on sale in Europe as early as March 2025, with a larger battery version due later that year.
