The BYD Atto 1 Premium (Thailand) is the top grade of BYD’s smallest EV in Thailand: a five-door A-segment hatchback with a single front motor and front-wheel drive. It’s the entry-level car in BYD’s Thai lineup, below the Dolphin, and it comes built in China. Elsewhere it’s called the Seagull or Dolphin Surf. It was shown at the Bangkok International Motor Show on 23 March 2026 and is BYD’s cheapest EV in Thailand. It’s 3,925 mm long with a 2,500 mm wheelbase, a bit shorter than the Australian Atto 1.
Under the floor is a 38.88 kWh Blade LFP pack. No source lists a usable figure, so that’s probably the gross number. BYD claims 380 km on NEDC, and several outlets quote about 304 km on WLTP, but the Thai launch material I found only gives NEDC. The motor is the Dynamic’s: 55 kW (75 PS), 135 Nm, 150 km/h top speed. AC charging maxes out at 6.6 kW and DC at 40 kW, 10 kW more than the Dynamic gets. I couldn’t find an official 10–80% time, so treat any you see as an estimate. Both Thai grades have V2L. On top of that, the Premium gets tilt-and-telescopic steering, a six-way power driver’s seat, a wireless charger and more front side airbags. It’s also the only grade with ADAS, including adaptive cruise, emergency braking and lane-departure functions.
The BYD Atto 1 Premium (Thailand) price is THB 459,900, about US$14,000 or RM56,000, and THB 30,000 over the Dynamic. It suits a commuter or second-car buyer in Bangkok who can charge at home and wants more range than the Dynamic gives. With DC capped at 40 kW, it’s slow going on longer trips. Within BYD it sits above the Dynamic and under both the Dolphin (from THB 569,900 when the Aion UT launched) and the Atto 2 (THB 659,900 for the Premium).
Of its rivals from other brands, the Wuling Binguo is cheaper at THB 369,000–389,000 after cuts, with a 31.9 kWh battery and 333 km NEDC at launch. The GAC Aion UT is larger and goes further, with the base 50.27 kWh trim listed at THB 519,900 in August 2026 (THB 499,900 at launch). The best direct comparison is the Geely EX2 Max at THB 459,990, just 90 baht more. Its 39.4 kWh LFP battery is rated at 395 km NEDC, around 325 km WLTP, so it has the edge on range, while the Atto 1 is the shorter car.
These are Thai list prices from March to August 2026 and could have changed. The Dolphin price is from June 2025 and may be stale.
