The BYD Atto 1 Dynamic (Thailand) is the base grade of BYD’s smallest EV in Thailand: a five-door A-segment hatchback with one front motor and front-wheel drive. It’s an entry model, built in China and imported complete, and it sits under the Dolphin in the range. Other markets sell it as the Seagull or Dolphin Surf. It was shown at the Bangkok International Motor Show on 23 March 2026 and is now BYD’s cheapest EV in Thailand. It’s 3,925 mm long on a 2,500 mm wheelbase, a bit shorter than the Australian car.
The battery is a 30.08 kWh Blade LFP pack. The sources don’t list a usable figure, so that number is likely gross. BYD’s range claim is 300 km on the NEDC cycle. You’ll also see about 240 km WLTP quoted, but that’s a press conversion, not an official figure. The motor makes 55 kW (75 PS) and 135 Nm, and the quoted numbers are 0–50 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a 150 km/h top speed. AC charging maxes out at 6.6 kW and DC at 30 kW. I couldn’t find an official 10–80% time for this grade. Both Thai grades get V2L. Compared with the Australian Essential (65 kW, 11 kW AC, 65 kW DC), the Thai Dynamic is the lower-spec car.
BYD Atto 1 Dynamic (Thailand) costs THB 429,900, which is about US$13,100 or RM52,000. The Premium is THB 459,900 and gets a 38.88 kWh battery (380 km NEDC, around 304 km WLTP), 40 kW DC charging, a six-way power driver’s seat, a wireless charger and ADAS. The Dynamic fits a Bangkok commuter or a second car that charges at home. With 6.6 kW AC and 30 kW DC it’s a slow car to take on long trips. Within BYD it sits below the Dolphin and the Atto 2 (THB 629,900 for the Dynamic), alongside its own Premium.
Of the rivals from other brands, the Wuling Binguo is cheaper at THB 369,000–389,000 after price cuts (31.9 kWh, 333 km NEDC at launch), and the GAC Aion UT is bigger and slightly dearer. The best direct comparison is the Geely EX2 Pro at THB 429,990, just 90 baht more. It has a 39.4 kWh LFP battery and a 395 km NEDC claim, around 325 km WLTP. That’s more battery and range for the same money, while the Atto 1 is the shorter car.
These are Thai list prices from the March 2026 launch and April 2026 reporting, and they may have changed. I didn’t find prices for the Aion UT or the Thai Dolphin.
