The BYD Atto 1 (Singapore) is BYD’s smallest and entry-level car in Singapore: a five-seat, five-door electric hatchback with one front motor and front-wheel drive. Sales began on 9 September 2026 through Vantage Automotive, a Sime Motors subsidiary and BYD’s only official distributor here. Singapore got it after Thailand and Indonesia, and in a single trim, the Dynamic. The motor stays under the 110 kW cut-off, so it qualifies for Category A COE. The car is 3,990 mm long, with a 308-litre boot and a 9.9 m turning diameter.
Its battery is a 43.2 kWh Blade LFP pack. No source says whether that’s usable or gross. BYD quotes 322 km on the WLTP cycle. The 65 kW / 175 Nm motor is good for 0–100 km/h in 12.1 seconds and 150 km/h flat out. It charges at up to 11 kW on AC and 85 kW on DC. I couldn’t find an official 10–80% time, so treat any number you see as an estimate. V2L, Level 2 driver assists and six airbags come standard. Australia’s Premium uses the same battery with a 115 kW motor and a 310 km claim, so this is a Category A-capped version of it.
The BYD Atto 1 (Singapore) launch price is S$172,888 with a guaranteed Category A COE, or S$164,888 on the non-guaranteed “Savers” package. One outlet gave a “from” price of S$169,888 instead, which I couldn’t match to the dealer’s figure. BYD says rebates of up to S$30,000 are available through the VES A banding and the EV Early Adoption Incentive. COE still shifts with each bidding round, and the last Category A premium I found was S$133,009 on 9 September. Overseas the car starts at A$23,990 in Australia and THB 429,900 in Thailand, though Singapore’s COE makes those numbers hard to compare. It fits a commuter or a second car with a short daily run and a place to charge at home. In BYD’s own range it’s the smallest model but not the cheapest: the Dolphin was around S$159,000 in August 2026 and the Atto 2 at S$166,888 in April.
The AION UT (S$144,988 at its January 2026 launch, 335 km WLTP for the standard trim) and the MG4 Electric Standard (about S$158,000) both undercut it. The best direct comparison is the Honda Super-ONE, launched here in January at S$178,999 with COE. It makes 70 kW and 162 Nm from an undisclosed battery, likely 29.6 kWh, and Honda declares around 202 km. The Atto 1 has the larger battery and longer range for less, and the Honda is the livelier car to drive.
All prices are Singapore figures from January to September 2026 reporting and can move with COE bidding. The Dolphin and MG4 numbers are approximate.
