BYD will unveil the third-generation Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, 2026. The new model switches to a rear-wheel-drive platform, gains 50 mm of wheelbase, and introduces flash charging capable of going from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes.
BYD confirmed the reveal on April 20 via social media, formally branding this the “third-generation” Atto 3. The car had already surfaced in leaked photos through China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) homologation filings. BYD responded with official design drawings — a blackened roof and pillars, a closed front fascia with slim headlights, and a single-piece rear light bar.

BYD Atto 3 Third-Gen Size and Design: 210 mm Longer Than Before
The new Atto 3 is noticeably larger than the model it replaces. Dimensions come in at 4,665 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, and 1,675 mm tall — 210 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 60 mm taller than the outgoing crossover. The wheelbase stretches to 2,770 mm. Wheel sizes are 18 or 19 inches depending on trim.

Two Battery Options: 540 km or 630 km Range
The third-gen Atto 3 offers two LFP battery packs, both from BYD’s FinDreams subsidiary.
The base pack holds 57.545 kWh and drives a 200 kW (268 hp) rear motor, returning a claimed 540 km of range. The larger 68.547 kWh pack pairs with a 240 kW (322 hp) motor for 630 km.

Flash Charging: 10% to 70% in 5 Minutes
Flash charging is the headline feature of this generation. BYD says the Atto 3 charges from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes flat, and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. Even at -30°C, the full charge adds only 3 minutes — bringing the total to around 12 minutes.

Interior: Column Shifter, HUD, and Floating Touchscreen
Inside, the third-gen Atto 3 gets a two-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted gear shifter. The dashboard pairs an LCD instrument cluster with a large floating touchscreen and a head-up display. The center console includes a wireless charger, two cup holders, and a hidden storage compartment.
