Accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour is no problem for this sporty convertible thanks to its twin electric motors, which produce a total of 400 kW. That is, until we consider that this is the CLTC estimated range, which implies that the range in actual conditions is much lower.
When the MG Cyberster first came out in November of last year, it was offered in three different editions: Glamour, Style, and Pioneer. Beginning in the final week of November, customers could purchase Cybersters with prices ranging from 44,5 thousand to 49,000 yuan ($44,500–$50,000).
Morris Garages, better known as MG, first opened its doors to the public in 1924, manufacturing reasonably priced, stylish, and sporty automobiles. Participation in motorsports and the release of legendary vehicles like the MG TC and MGB brought the brand widespread renown. Despite several ownership changes and setbacks over the years, MG is thriving again now that it is in Chinese hands.
Affordable electric vehicles have been the company’s main focus for the past few years, and they’re seeing a lot of success in the European market. Cyberster gets back to its roots with this addition, but the “affordability” part doesn’t work in Europe. Starting at $70,000 for the base model and $81,000 for the top-of-the-line are the prices. Cyberster is the sole electric performance convertible available, and although the brand may lack influence, it certainly gets people talking. It’s also pretty pricey.
